25 Lessons I’ve learned in 2025

25 year old woman sitting quietly in cafe, symbolizing reflection and personal growth in 2025.

It’s that time of the year again, as 2025 comes to a close and I find myself doing what we all typically do… reflecting.

To be completely honest, my first thought when processing this year was THANK GOD it’s OVER. 2025 challenged me in so many ways I never expected.

From losing my job, shifting career paths, processing a breakup, moving back home with my parents, and getting on a one way flight to Bali, it has felt like I have lived several life times all within the past 12 months.

Looking back at the past year, my limits were pushed, my beliefs of the world, others, and myself were challenged, and there was no shortage of moments when I simply just wanted to give up. There were periods when I had no idea how I was going to make it through the next month yet alone the next day, but here we are still standing and the year is nearly over.

See, that’s the thing… even when life seems impossible and we think we can’t make it, we somehow do, we just keep going, we survive.

If all you did was simple survive in 2025, I hope you know that this is enough. And if no one has told you, I am so proud of you <3

Even though 2025 was a hard year, it offered me countless lessons. At the time, I didn’t recognize them as lessons at all, I was asking “why is this happening to me?”and feeling like the universe had turned against me. But looking back now, I am truly grateful for what those moments have taught me. The challenges I faced shaped who I am today, and I know I wouldn’t be living or seeing life the same way if those obstacles hadn’t been placed in my path.

Here are 25 things 2025 has taught me (whether I was ready or not).

  1. Do less better: Skill is born from presence, not multitasking. We don’t trust half-trained doctors…so why offer our own growth anything less than devotion?

  2. You will continue to feel lost until you learn how to quite your mind and listen inward instead

  3. Saying less is actually saying more

  4. When you let go of what is resisting you, you can make space for what is meant for you

  5. We are all souls. Underneath the titles, the jobs, the labels, we are all just having a human experience. This perspective allows us to hold more compassion for others and changes everything.

  6. The less you try to control, the more you can move with peace

  7. You use an umbrella in the rain

You wear a jacket when it snows

Your boundaries in your relationships are no different

  8. Fear is just anxiety of the past or future, bring yourself back to the present

  9. Embrace the journey. The moment you stop waiting for perfection is the moment you begin to move forward. You’ll never feel completely “ready,” and that’s okay. Start anyway, and let growth meet you along the way.

  10. The way you speak to yourself shapes your reality

  11. When all is lost, surrender to the universe. You will instantly feel lighter placing your thoughts, worries and fears in the hands of something greater

  12. Spend more time with yourself in silence in order to listen.

  13. Do the scary thing scared. Growth is never comfortable.

  14. If you know your intentions, others opinions shouldn’t concern you.

  15. Be around people who live the life you want. Learn their path.

  16. You are not your thoughts. Meditation teaches the space between.

  17. Love is all around you. In nature, in your thoughts, in simple hellos, you never need permission to offer it.

  18. Be a kid, be silly, be curious, don’t take life too seriously. Laugh more, be fearless, live freely.

  19. Some people are mirrors, use it as a lesson. Instead of judging them, ask what it’s showing you about yourself.

  20. Dance more, especially in the rain.

  21. Choose consistency over perfection. Small progress adds up.

  22. Tell people you love them more often. Love grows when it is spoken.

  23. Be grateful for what was and what can be…that’s letting go.

  24. You never stop loving someone, your heart simply learns how to hold more.

  25. Life is a gift. When you listen to yourself, you honor it. When you offer your presence, you pass it on.

Wishing you a 2026 filled with love, happiness, and so much joy. <3

Xo.
